About Robert G. Marquis Sr.

Robert G. Marquis Sr. began writing while still in high school. As an adult, most of his writing took the form of sermons prepared through his years in Christian ministry, along with occasional articles on magic for club newsletters and other magician-related publications. Book writing came later.
Drawing on a lifetime of varied experiences—as a minister, Freemason, magician, businessman, manufacturer, and engineer—he began exploring subjects that had often raised questions in his own life and in the lives of others. His books combine personal experience, research, Scripture, history, and a conversational style intended to make complicated and sometimes controversial subjects easier to examine.

What I Write About

My writing often explores the places where faith, Freemasonry, magic, Scripture, history, and personal experience intersect. Rather than avoiding difficult or controversial questions, I try to examine them carefully, explain what I have learned, and let the reader follow the reasoning with me.

Beyond the Books

Robert and his wife, Karen, live in Northeast Ohio, where they are enjoying what they happily call their “Golden Years.” They have three adult children and six grandchildren. Away from writing and business, family remains an important part of life and a welcome reminder that some of the best chapters are the ones you get to share with the people closest to you.
